This policy explains what information Q-Fábrica collects through qfabrica.com and its products — Q-Explorator and Q-Expert — why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Q-Fábrica is an online company with no physical office, operated from Colombia and Mexico. It is the controller of the personal data collected through qfabrica.com and its products, Q-Explorator and Q-Expert. You can reach us at the email address at the bottom of this page.
Through the contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), your message and any file you choose to attach. Through the Q-Explorator download form we collect your email address. When you buy a paid plan, our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record) collects the billing information needed to process the purchase — we never see or store your card details. Through Q-Expert accounts we process your account details, such as your email address. We also collect where you came from on your first visit — any UTM parameters in the link you followed and the site that referred you, plus the first page you landed on — and whether you agreed to receive product emails and when. For Q-Expert account holders, we process a short list of product milestones and actions, such as having created a first project — never the contents, names or scripts of your projects. For Q-Explorator customers, we process your subscription term and status and the last four characters of your license key, never the full key.
We use this information to answer your message, send you the Q-Explorator download link, manage your license and your Q-Expert account, and process payments and invoices. Where it applies, we also use it to check whether your Q-Expert subscription — a 12-month Premium plan or a Team seat — entitles you to a free Q-Explorator license for as long as that subscription stays active. We also use it to understand which channels bring people to the site, to help new users get started, and, only if you opted in, to send you product news and tips. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Sending you product news and tips by email is optional and requires your own, separate consent — a checkbox apart from accepting this policy, never pre-checked and never required to download Q-Explorator or to contact us. If you don't tick it, you won't receive marketing emails; we'll still send you service messages about your account, license or support request, since those aren't optional. We record your choice together with the date, where it was given, and the version of this policy in effect at the time.
You can turn off "Product news by email" at any time from the About window inside Q-Expert, or by replying to any marketing email asking to stop. We honor and record every withdrawal, and it never affects your account, license or support.
We rely on your consent to send product emails, and on legitimate interest and the performance of our service for everything else — answering you, delivering a license, and basic product analytics. Under Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012, we only collect and use personal data with your prior, express and informed consent, for a defined purpose, and you have the right to know, update, correct and request deletion of your data, and to revoke your consent at any time. If the GDPR applies to you, the same principles apply under its own terms: a lawful basis for every use, purpose limitation, data minimization, and the right to withdraw consent and to erasure.
Q-Explorator is a desktop viewer that displays the contents of the TXT, CSV and QVD files you open in a grid. It processes those files locally on your own computer; we do not receive or store your data files. Q-Expert is an online service: the models, projects and scripts you create in it are stored so the service can work for you. They remain yours — we use them only to provide and support the service, and we don't use them for advertising. Q-Expert has no self-service option to delete an account: to have your account and its data deleted, write to us at the email address below.
We only share personal data with the providers that make the service work, acting on our behalf: Netlify (hosting and form processing), Supabase (our database provider) and Lemon Squeezy (payments, taxes and license keys). When you opt in to product emails, we also share your email address with our email delivery provider, solely to send them. None of them is authorized to use your data for anything other than providing these services to us. We may also disclose data when a competent authority legally requires it.
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. When that happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards for personal data.
We keep contact and download form submissions only as long as needed to respond to them, plus a reasonable period for our own records. Billing and license data is kept while your plan is active and for the additional period required by our payment provider or by applicable law. If a Q-Expert subscription ends and is not renewed, you keep the option to come back for 12 months: your account and models are kept for that time. We email you before that period ends, and after it we delete the account and its models, except for data we must keep by law. You can ask us to delete them earlier at any time.
You can ask us at any time to tell you what data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to revoke a consent you gave us. Write to the email address below. Under Colombian law (Law 1581 of 2012, Habeas Data) we will answer requests within 10 business days and complaints within 15 business days. If you live somewhere with its own data protection law, such as the European Union under the GDPR, those rights apply as well, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Colombia, that authority is the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio.
qfabrica.com does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics, and it does not load fonts or scripts from third-party servers. Your language preference is saved locally in your browser (localStorage) so the site remembers it on your next visit — it never leaves your device. We also save your first visit's source (see "What we collect") locally in your browser the same way; it only leaves your device if you go on to submit the contact or download form, which includes it automatically. The Q-Expert application uses only the session cookies it needs to keep you signed in. If any of this changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Our products are aimed at professionals and are not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We encourage checking back occasionally, especially before submitting a form.
